🤟 What Your Classmates Are Building
What? - An autonomous winter maintenance robot that can clear snow and maintain lawns. It’s like a Roomba for snow.
Why? - If you live in a place that snows, you’ll know that clearing snow is a chore. You have to constantly monitor it and it takes hours to do. Nivoso uses sensors to work around the clock to ensure that your driveways and sidewalks are safe.
📍Industries: Home Maintenance, Hardware
🚀 Stage: Pre-seed
🛠 Founded: 2020
😎 Founders: Max Nivoso (UMN)
Bonus: Nivoso actually started as a 6th-grade science project of the founder, Max Minakov. We featured his story in a LinkedIn post here.
They’re also looking for mechanical engineering and robotics interns. Reply to this email with your resume if you’re interested!
What? - An AI assistant that reads and synthesizes information from an organization’s internal files and systems and over 50 million pages of content from thousands of sources. Instead of searching for information themselves, employees can save time by asking Lucy.
Why? - Information in the workplace is inefficiently shared. Companies spend time and money doing research that someone else in the company might have already done.
📍Industries: Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Media, Customer Service
🚀 Stage: Series A
🛠 Founded: 2016
😎 Founders: Scott Litman (UMN), Marc Dispensa (NYU), Dan Mallin (UMN)
What? - An all-in-one platform for coaches to host their business. It includes everything a coach needs to run their business from client scheduling to automated invoicing.
Why? - Some coaches may not be equipped to run the business side of their coaching programs. Zoee takes care of this so they can focus on what they do best — coaching their clients.
📍Industries: Consumer Software, Marketplace, SaaS, Software
🚀 Stage: Debt Financing
🛠 Founded: 2019
😎 Founders: Nichole Lowe (UMN)
